Packing & Resettling

Our coed packing team is extremely careful and efficient. The women are particularly adept at packing fine stemware, china and other fragile items like lamps. The men enjoy packing books, closet contents including clothes, large art & mirrors, and the contents of garages, basements and sheds. We can schedule as much or as little packing help as needed. If you want to do your own packing, we will encourage you and give you packing tips to ensure safe passage for your favorite things

We charge by the hour to pack, then we add on the cost of the materials actually utilized. We frequently have “used” packaging that we pass on at half price, as well as “used” paper that we pass on for free. Packaging can be very expensive and we encourage our customers to glean boxes wherever possible as moving day approaches. When we arrive to pack, we always use the customer’s packaging first to save money.Most people forget that they may need help at the destination getting unpacked. At the very minimum we suggest letting us unpack the lamps and other electronics, so we can make sure that everything works. If we can unpack the hanging clothes, we can get rid of the oversized wardrobe boxes and free up vital floorspace.

Resettling is more than just unpacking. It might mean hanging pictures and mirrors, putting non-skid pads under area rugs, configuring the surround sound, or setting up a new email box for the computer. We are willing to handle any detail that family and friends cannot address and at prices less than most specialty contractors would charge.
